Hi! I’m Marit. A film director based in Amsterdam.
I direct documentary, fiction and music videos with atmospheric visuals or informative content depending on each unique story’s needs.
My strength lies in listening deeply, finding the core of each narrative, and translating it into the right creative concept. I believe in the power of storytelling to inspire positive change, and contribute to a more kind, inclusive and sustainable world. That’s why I love writing and directing personal, sensitive stories. And partnering with sustainable brands, humanitarian organizations and NGOs/charities to bring their stories to life.
I hold a BA in Film Directing (graduated with Honours) from the University of the Arts Utrecht, and a Master’s degree in Arts & Society from Utrecht University, where I also explored Antropology, Postcolonial & Gender Studies and studied a semester at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. I always strive to combine my research skills with my creative vision to craft impactful, meaningful narratives.
Based in Amsterdam, I work both locally and internationally, with experience in London, Budapest, Lisbon, and Berlin, as well as directing (remote) projects worldwide.
